Self Validation #CrownYourself

This blog is about you, yes YOU! Self validation is a concept that I can admit I struggle with. I am always the first in line to self sabotage or down play my accomplishments. For some strange reason we are made to believe that self validation is selfish. We are in so many ways made to feel guilty for taking time for ourselves, excelling or even daring to thrive in a "male dominated world". How often do we accept less than what we are worth in fear of offending? Why is it easier to work 8 hours for an employer but harder to put time into our own goals? Too often we put our own dreams on hold because we feel there isn't enough room with everything else we have to juggle as women. Enough is enough. It's time you crown yourself, unapologetically!

No more apologizing for being great! It's okay to be your own hype man. If a man is unapologetically himself in any aspect of his life, he is seen as a boss or even a king! We've normalized the idea of men being dominant and flaunting their talents. Nobody crucifies a man for calling himself a king or being self assured. So why should we do it to ourselves or care if we do experience resistance? You are not vain for promoting yourself. You are not a bitch for being your own boss. You are not crazy for demanding what you are worth and you should't feel guilty for investing in yourself. It's been modeled before us time and time again that in order to be a queen you must first be validated by a man. You are royalty in your own right! You can accomplish anything you put your mind to and you don't need a man to cosign. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way bashing men in this post but I can't ignore the blatant double standards when it comes to self care, awareness and assurance.

I've been reading two books that have been helping me resolve my self doubt and I encourage you to read them as well. The first book is entitled "Secrets of Six-Figure Women: Surprising Strategies to Up Your Earnings and Change Your Life" by Barbara Stanny and the other is "Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals" by Rachel Hollis. Crowning yourself is nothing but a mindset change. Some may say that it is easier said than done but even baby steps can be power moves. Take the power from the false narratives we've adopted over the years. Silence the negative voices in your head telling you that you can't and erase the guilt that holds you back from reaching your full potential. People are thirsty for what you have to offer. You cannot fully quench their thirst with a watered down version of yourself. Put on your crown and take the thrown! It's time for you to rule the kingdom within your mind and manifest your ideas upon the earth. YOU ARE A BIG DEAL and it is okay to express that to the world, believe it or not...you are exactly what the world is waiting for!
